Beginning Hard Shell Kayak Lesson This kayak lesson is structured to give you the necessary foundation to paddle class II whitewater in a hard shell kayak. RRA offers 1-2 day raft supported inflatable kayaking trips on the South Fork of the American, lower Middle Fork American and East Carson rivers. Our introductory half day inflatable kayaking trip on a Class II section of the South Fork of the American is a very affordable way to get your feet wet with this sport. Most participants end up coming back for a longer trip through progressively more challenging rapids until they are comfortable navigating class III whitewater on their own. Each day starts with a 20 minute discussion/demonstration on paddling techniques, rivercommunication, and river safety.
